Best Easy Hikes in the Dolomites With Cable Cars
You don’t have to be a hardcore hiker to see the best of the Dolomites. This guide covers the best easy hikes in the Dolomites with cable cars, perfect if you want incredible scenery without long or difficult walks.
Some of the most jaw-dropping viewpoints are only a cable car + a gentle walk away. If you like the idea of big scenery but smaller effort – or you’re travelling with mixed abilities – these are the easy hikes I recommend again and again.
Before You Start: A Few Quick Tips
Always check lift opening times – they’re seasonal and can change with weather
Take a light layer, even on sunny days – it’s cooler at the top
Wear proper shoes (trainers with good grip are fine for these)
Start earlier in July/August if you want quieter trails

1. Seceda Ridge (Val Gardena)
Region: Val Gardena – Ortisei or Col Raiser side
Why it’s special: One of the most iconic views in the Dolomites for very little effort.
Take the Ortisei–Furnes–Seceda lift or the Col Raiser cable car, and within minutes you’re on an open plateau with sharp peaks dropping away in front of you.
Easy option
Short walk from the lift station to the main viewpoint
Gentle paths along the ridge, with plenty of places to sit and just stare
Perfect for
First full day in Val Gardena
Anyone who wants a “wow” moment without a big hike

Region: Alta Badia – Corvara / San Cassiano
Why it’s special: Rolling meadows, 360° views, and rifugi every time you turn around.
