Most Beautiful Dolomites Lakes You Can Reach Easily
The Dolomites are famous for dramatic peaks and alpine landscapes, but some of the most beautiful places in the region are its lakes.
What many visitors don’t realize is that several of the most famous Dolomites lakes are very easy to reach, often requiring only a short walk from the parking area.
If you’re planning a trip and want incredible scenery without long hikes, these lakes are some of the best places to visit.
Lago di Braies
Lago di Braies is one of the most famous lakes in the Dolomites.
Surrounded by steep mountain walls and turquoise water, it has become one of the most photographed locations in the region.
The lake is very easy to reach, with parking located just a short walk from the shoreline.
Visitors can walk around the lake on a scenic path, rent a small wooden rowboat, or simply enjoy the view from the lakeside.
Lago di Braies is often visited as part of a scenic drive through the Three Peaks region.
Lago di Carezza
Lago di Carezza is a small alpine lake known for its vivid emerald-green water and reflections of the surrounding peaks.
The lake is located near the road connecting Val di Fassa and Val d’Ega, making it one of the easiest Dolomites lakes to visit.
A short walking path circles the lake and provides several viewpoints where you can see the reflections of the Latemar mountains.
Because it’s easy to reach, Lago di Carezza is a popular stop on scenic drives through the Dolomites.
Lago di Misurina
Lago di Misurina is one of the largest lakes in the Dolomites and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
The lake sits along the road leading to the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
Visitors can walk along the lakeside promenade, enjoy a café with mountain views, or use Misurina as a starting point for exploring nearby viewpoints.
The area is also close to the dramatic peaks of Cadini di Misurina.
Lago di Valparola
Lago di Valparola is a small alpine lake located along Valparola Pass, one of the most scenic drives in the Dolomites.
The lake sits in a wide open mountain landscape surrounded by dramatic peaks.
Because it’s located directly beside the road, it’s an easy stop when driving between Alta Badia and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Why Dolomites Lakes Are Easy to Visit
Many visitors are surprised by how accessible the Dolomites are.
While the region is famous for hiking, some of the most spectacular places can be reached by car, cable car, or short walks.
